Data fit-tech business Volution has appointed Ryan McNicolas to Business Development Manager for the USA.  Joining from Les Mills where Ryan was a Customer Experience Manager for four years and prior to that worked at tech-platform Raise, Ryan will be working with clubs and operators to educate and inspire them about how the world of data can drive their businesses forward.

Ryan says: “Many health and fitness providers are amazing at offering members fantastic fitness experiences but they aren’t capitalizing on larger commercial opportunities that can arise from a better understanding and making better use of their data; with many operators viewing data-led solutions as expensive and complicated.  I want to shift the mindset of the sector to demonstrate that data can help operators make the right decisions, at the right times, allowing automated actions to increase conversion; drive sales, efficiencies and commercial outcomes.”

Volution enables gyms and fitness centres to make the most of the data they currently have by offering bespoke and seamless integration into existing systems and program to ensure all data is in one place, easily understandable and most importantly able to demonstrate and deliver commercial opportunities and ROI.

Ryan adds: “The sector has a unique opportunity to start fresh and allow data and insights to help shape and shift businesses and services to be more customer-centric, more efficient and higher performing.  What’s more, we are likely to see more members and consumers wanting more at home and digital solutions to ease the transition back to the bricks and mortar clubs.  The clubs and facilities which have the foresight and ability to offer and track this through data will be the winners and will have a clear competitive advantage.”

Ryan will be working closely with Andy Hall, Director of Sales in the UK and the development team to ensure Volution’s solutions continue to drive performance and results for the sector.

Adam Norton, CEO of Volution said: “It’s great to welcome Ryan to the team.  The US market is full of potential and with the right data partner and solution, clubs and fitness centres can start seeing commercial returns of at least 30% from the first month of any partnership.  Becoming a data-driven business shouldn’t be rocket science.  It needs to be simple, hassle-free and affordable for every gym or fitness centre; all it takes is getting the right software solution in place.  Data needs to enable businesses to make informed decisions quickly and rationally.”

Volution currently partners with over 300 fitness centres across the globe, has 380,000 active users and is driving revenue/savings of over $7000 per month per club.

Ryan concludes: “What’s great about Volution is that we don’t require any changes of tech or operation for our solution to start working straight away.  We can develop and integrate new and high performing applications to enable businesses to have greater visibility of data gained from multiple data sources which in turn can improve business performance.”
