NCAI art exhibit features work by John Murphy and Les III - Asheboro Courier Tribune
SILER CITY — Between our highways and skyways is the road less travelled, a roadway into the visual arts, dotted with whimsical creatures beckoning viewers to enjoy a lighthearted art experience.
Ethereal is the new two-artist exhibition heading directly for you at the North Carolina Arts Incubator (NCAI), a non-profit art space in downtown Siler City. North Carolina-native visual artists explore the road between furry life and the spiritual world, with a healthy dose of quirk through their individual creative voices. Ethereal consists of plush toy creature art by John Murphy and animal-themed mixed media found objects by Les III. Many of the artworks are created with recycled materials — some found along U.S. Highway 64.
The exhibition runs from Aug. 21-Sept. 24 at NCAI’s Peggy Almond Fullington (PAF) Gallery, 223 N. Chatham Ave., downtown Siler City. The gallery reception is set for Friday, Aug. 21, from 5-10 p.m. Appropriate social distancing measures as outlined by the state guidelines will be observed. The reception is free and open to the public.
For more information and to schedule a free gallery visit, contact NCAI at 919-663-1335 or ncaidirector@gmail.com.
