Will just doing cardio help me lose fat?

Yes it will initially but it’s dangerous because too much cardio with no weight lifting will burn muscle tissue and cause a decrease in muscle which is bad because muscle burns fat, so ultimately this could lead to major plateaus. Muscle is the furnace that burns body fat continuously! So if you enjoy cardio that’s fine, just make sure to monitor it. If you are looking to maximize your fat burning with steady state cardio such as the treadmill, elliptical or bike you should perform at sixty-five percent of your max heart rate. Although HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is scientifically proven to be the most effective cardio to burn the most calories while preserving the most muscle.
