With all the talk of "fat-burning", you wouldn't be far off in believing your can rid your body of whole fat cells through workout. While it might be more motivating to think of your stubborn fat cells disappearing in bursts of miniflames, what actually happens when you lose weight through fat loss is that your fat cells shrink through a process called lipolysis. Unless you undergo a surgical removal such as liposuction, your body maintains the same amount of cells, and they simply increase or decrease in size as you gain or lose weight.
If you had no clue regarding that fact about fat loss, you're not alone.
