Les Miles updates Kansas football injury report before Baylor - 247Sports
Here is a look at Kansas football's injury report ahead of a Game 2 contest against Baylor.
Quarterback Thomas MacVittie — expected to play, per coach Les Miles
MacVittie, who started the opener for KU at quarterback, was knocked out of the Jayhawks' 38-23 loss to Coastal Carolina in the third quarter with an apparent shoulder injury. However, Miles indicated in an answer on Monday's Big 12 coaches teleconference that the Jayhawks would "expect him to play" in Game 2 vs. Baylor.
"The guys that took the field by and large will be the same guys that took the field for us last week," Miles said of the quarterbacks. "Hopefully MacVittie's progress will continue because we expect him to play. Miles Kendrick came in and performed well as did Jalon Daniels. We'll have to see, but I feel confident that the guys that I just named will understand the offense and have been through it several times."

MacVittie's numbers in the opener were modest, as he completed only 5 of 9 passes for 20 yards. However, one of his incompletions was tipped by a receiver and intercepted, while another pass was dropped. He also had six rushing attempts for 37 yards and moved the ball for first downs five times — all either by run or drawn defensive penalties.
Running back Pooka Williams — probable, per Miles
According to comments from Miles, Williams, a junior running back, appears to be likely to play despite an apparent injury that hindered him in the opening game. Williams totaled only 12 carries for 67 yards in the loss.
Following Kansas football's loss to Coastal Carolina, Miles revealed Williams, KU's star running, had "a nick," which contributed to his smaller workload. However, Miles said KU expected Williams back "relatively quickly." Days later, on his weekly Hawk Talk show, Miles added that Williams probably would have been good to play even if the Jayhawks didn't have an off week last week, though he did note he was "glad" for the extra week of rest for Williams.
Wideout Stephon Robinson and tight end Jack Luavasa — available, per Miles
Both Robinson (senior wideout) and Luavasa (senior tight end) missed KU's loss to Coastal Carolina for undisclosed reasons, as the Jayhawks had a 39-player did-not-dress list. Reasons for being on such a list could have included injury, suspension, a positive COVID-19 test, contact tracing or any number of other things. However, Miles has indicated both players should be good to go for the game this weekend.

Miles indicated KU would "have those guys back" on last week's Big 12 coaches teleconference (last Monday). Both players should be expected available vs. Baylor.
Offensive guard Jacobi Lott — probable, per Miles
Miles gave a brief update on Lott on Monday, saying he thinks Lott (as well as Pooka Williams) "will see the field."
